The Monastery of Saint Anthony respects the Coptic Orthodox tradition and Saint Anthony was considered the greatest spiritual leader of the time.

The interesting fact is that St. Anthony spent his life in cave as well. In his case we are talking about 90 yers!

Conservation works took place here from 1997 to 2005 to restore some of the damaged parts.
